The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's will return on Saturday, May 18 in Petrolia.
Check-in opens at 11 a.m. and the walk will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Black Gold Brewery.
Participants will walk five kilometres through the town, led by Mayor Brad Loosely.
Manager of Fund Development and Communications Marie Marcy-Smids said after there will be activities for adults and kids.
"We have entertainment by Jeff Black on the Black Gold patio. We've got air brush tattooing by Dreamweaver, rock painting, slime making. We'll keep the kids busy, so you can enjoy the tunes on the patio," she said.
There will also be the Walk for Alzheimer's in Sarnia.
Marcy-Smids hopes to raise $90,000 between the two walks.
She said the money raised will support Alzheimer Society Sarnia-Lambton.
"We are trying to support families as best we can but we know the numbers are growing, so we're only 58 per cent funded by the ministry, so all of the money raised supports the programs directly and stays in Sarnia-Lambton," said Marcy-Smids.
In Sarnia-Lambton around 9,000 people are affected by Alzheimer's and different dementias with 3,000 being diagnosed.
"There are a lot of people in Sarnia-Lambton that are living with Alzheimer's and other Dementias, so we struggle to keep up with the demand for services," Marcy-Smids said.
It will be held in Sarnia on Sunday, May 26 at the Suncor Agora at Centennial Park.
Check-in will start at 8:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 9:35 a.m.
There will also be speeches by MPP Bob Bailey and MP Marilyn Gladu.
Following the walk there will be a pancake and sausage breakfast.
Marcy-Smids expects around 400 to 500 participants.
Registration can be done for either event on the Walk For Alzheimer's website or during check-in.
