It's expected to be a hot and humid start to the week in Sarnia-Lambton.
A special weather statement has been issued.
Environment Canada said a hot and humid airmass is moving into southwestern Ontario bringing maximum temperatures of 31 C with overnight minimum temperatures near 21 C.
We will see slightly cooler temperatures on Wednesday with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, which will keep hot and humid conditions below heat warning criteria.
The national weather agency said these conditions still pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat and everyone is at risk from heat, especially older adults, infants and young children, and those suffering from chronic illnesses.
We are advised to drink plenty of cool liquids before feeling thirsty and to keep cool by dressing for the weather and spending more time in a cool place.
Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.
Further details about heat-related illness and cooling centres in the area can be found on Lambton Public Health's website.
