Cyclists of all ages are invited to take part in Sunday's Bluewater International Granfondo (BIG) Slow Roll.
The Slow Roll has become a popular community event since its inception in 2022.
It's a large, free, and inclusive community 10km bike ride dedicated to contributing to the growth of bicycle culture in the Sarnia Lambton area.
The goal is to further cycling not only as a health initiative, but also to help enhance Sarnia’s image as a cycling community.
Those taking part can do so at their own leisurely pace, regardless of age, experience, ability, or type of bike.
This year's ride kicks off at 2 p.m. at the old boat launch parking lot in Centennial Park on Harbour Road.
Riders will travel through Point Edward by way of Venetian Boulevard, through Canatara Park. There will be one stop to regroup at Canatara Park before returning down Cathcart Boulevard to Colborne Road and finally along Exmouth Street back to end at Paddy’s and Point Brewing Company for music and a post-ride BBQ.
Lambton OPP will be on hand to ensure everyone's safety.
The Point Brewing Company will be donating $1 from every 20 oz pint and hot dog sold to Big Brothers and Big Sisters between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The BIG is thanking event partners, nuSarnia, BackHome Coffee, Rotary Club of Sarnia and Friends of the St. Clair River and many community volunteers who help to keep the Slow Roll free for everyone. In lieu of a registration fee, donations are being accepted toward Big Brothers and Big Sisters Sarnia Lambton.
