Huron House Boys Home to host annual Run/Walk/Skate/Bike

The Huron House Boys Home's 37th annual Run/Walk/Skate/Bike fundraiser will return to Bright's Grove this weekend.

The event will be held on Sunday, June 16 at Mike Weir Park, beginning at 8 a.m.

Huron House Boys Home spokesperson Denise McMillan said there is something for everyone.

"We have a five [kilometre] and 10k timed run, we have a 5k walk and we have a 7k bike or skate if you want to do rollerblades," she said.

Once the races are completed, there will be a pancake and sausage breakfast.

McMillan said there will also be something for kids.

"We have a free kids adventure course and all of the participants that are involved get a medal for participating," she said.

There will also be a virtual option this year.

"If you can't make it out on the day to participate you can go to our website and you can sign up virtually and do your own race," she said.

Spokesperson Brooke Kyte also explained what the money raised will go towards.

"It mostly goes towards operational costs and outings for our youth. Summer is always a great time for us, we go to Canada's Wonderland, lots of local stuff, and the kids always have a great summer," Kyte said.

Registration for the event can be done online.
