50/50 for St. Pat's track winding down

The option to purchase tickets for a fundraising 50/50 raffle, to support the new track at St. Patrick's Catholic High School in Sarnia, will close this week.

Raffle tickets can be purchased online up until Thursday, June 20 at 11:59 p.m.

The winning ticket will be drawn on Friday, June 21 at 11 a.m.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board(SCCDSB) and Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence launched the fundraiser in May.

A grand opening for the newly constructed track was later held in early June during the Lambton Catholic Sports Council track and field meet.

“The 50/50 raffle is an exciting chance for parents, staff, and community members to support our students and this amazing new athletic facility,” said Director of Education Scott Johnson.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the total pot was over $10,000, meaning the winner would take home more than $5,000.

SCCDSB Manager of Facilities Services Tony Montanino previously said they were hoping to fundraise $435,000 to help pay for the track.
