OPP lay trafficking charges after stopping vehicle in Arkona

Lambton OPP have charged four people with drug trafficking after stopping a vehicle on Townsend Line in Arkona July 4.

The OPP said members of the Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) along with Strategic Operations Intelligence Unit (SOIU), and Anishinabek Police Service were involved.

Police said the car was pulled over at around 11 p.m., and the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Officers allegedly seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, trafficking materials, and currency estimated at over $17,000.

A 36-year-old from Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, has been charged with two counts of possession of a schedule one substance for purpose of trafficking, and failure to comply with release order.

A 52-year-old from Petrolia, a 34-year-old from Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, and a 59-year-old from Forest are each facing one count of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Police said the suspects have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 7 in Sarnia.
