Two arrested following robbery at Exmouth St. plaza

Two people in their 20s have been arrested and charged following an alleged robbery at a plaza on Exmouth Street.

Sarnia police were called to the parking lot of a business in the area of Exmouth and East Street North at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police said a 31-year-old male victim was attempting to enter a store, when he was allegedly approached by a male and female known to him.

It's alleged the female suspect attempted to remove the victim's backpack, while the male began punching and kicking him.

The female suspect is also accused of burning the wrist of the victim with a small torch lighter and stealing his watch.

Police said the victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

A 25-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were arrested and charged with robbery.

The woman faces an additional charge of assault with a weapon.

Both suspects were being held for bail.
