Lambton OPP busy during Labour Day weekend

Lambton OPP officers were kept busy over the Labour Day long weekend.

Police said a total of 76 charges were laid and 69 warnings were issued locally, from August 30 to September 2.

This year's campaign focused on the "Big Four" bad driving behaviours: aggressive driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving, and impaired driving.

Police said these four factors are the leading contributors to death, injury and property damage on Ontario roads and highways.

Lambton OPP laid 40 speeding charges, seven impaired driving charges, and three charges for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Police are thanking the drivers who made the responsible choice to drive safely, noting the commitment to road safety plays a crucial role in keeping our communities safe.
