Serious downtown crash sends pedestrian to hospital

Sarnia police are investigating a collision in the downtown area that sent a pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said a 69-year-old man was struck by a pickup truck shortly after 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of Christina Street North and George Street.

The truck driver was not injured.

The intersection was closed for several hours and reopened at around 3:30 p.m.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or those with dashcam footage of the incident, to contact Constable Mark Berger at 519-344-8861 extension 6156.
