41st Rotary auction underway in Sarnia

The Rotary Club of Sarnia is hoping to raise $50,000 in its 41st annual auction.

The online fundraiser has over 500 items up for bid this year.

Spokesperson Carolyn Luciani said you can get your Christmas shopping done without leaving the house.

"You can scroll through the pages, and pages, and pages of stuff and you can bid on anything you want," said Luciani. "So you can put the bid that you would like right now, then you can put a maximum bid in. So, if nobody outbids you you'll stay where you are, but if somebody bids higher than you it will bid you up."

The total value of the various items exceeds $70,000.

"There's anything from gift baskets, to purple [Grimace] Crocs from McDonalds, there's Red Wings versus the Toronto Maple Leafs tickets -- everyone's two favourite teams -- two tickets to that," Luciani added.

Bidding is underway until November 17 at rtva.ca.

"Log on, support Rotary, and get your Christmas shopping all done in one push of a button," she added.

Following the auction, items will be available for pickup at the Rotary office on 1210 Michigan Rd (beside Pathways) on November 19 and 20.
