Forest man arrested following $70K in property theft

Lambton OPP have arrested a 35-year-old Forest man in connection to a break and enter in Plympton-Wyoming.

Police said $70,000 in property was stolen from a Michigan Line residence during the early morning hours November 1.

That included a Yanmar compact tractor, a Ferris zero-turn mower, a 1965 Chevrolet half ton pickup truck and a Lycoming aircraft engine.

Police said several items had previously been recovered at nearby locations.

On November 14, officers executed a search warrant at an address on Creamery Road in North-Middlesex and confiscated the stolen mower.

Police said other stolen property and offence-related items were recovered during the search.

The accused is facing two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.

He was also charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

Police said the suspect was held pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia and has since been released.
