After a busy month of setting up, the Celebration of Lights at Sarnia's Centennial Park will be turned on Saturday night.
Board Chair Dean Holtz said ahead of the opening ceremonies on November 30, they've experienced some vandalism at the displays.
A projector was stolen and many extension cords were unplugged and removed and some were even damaged.
He said they're working hard to have everything ready for the kick off at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Suncor Agora.
"We start with a Christmas Carol concert, Santa is going to come in and he's going to countdown the turning on of the lights and right as that happens, fireworks," said Holtz. "And it's the same fireworks company out of Toronto that does the Canada Day celebrations so it will be really good."
Santa will stick around to take his photo with his fans.
"Theresa Chalmers is providing free photography for the family, Santa's going to go down and they'll get free prints, professional photos which is amazing," said Holtz.
There will also be horse and wagon rides and free hot beverages.
Holtz said it's a real community effort to put on the display each and every year.
"We really only can do this because the community comes together both in volunteer and in sponsorship because it does take money to do these things," he said.
The lights will be on every evening throughout the holiday season until New Year's Day.
