Point Edward, Sarnia get gaming revenue payments from OLG

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has issued fourth quarter gaming revenue payments to municipalities for hosting casinos.

The payments span from January 1 to March 31.

A total of $401,537 was issued to the Village of Point Edward for hosting the Starlight Casino.

During OLG’s fiscal year, from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, Point Edward has received $1,720,893.

Since the gaming site opened in April 2000, Point Edward has received $53,912,946.

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey commented on the payments.

"Starlight Casino Point Edward strengthens our community through sharing gaming revenue that supports local priorities and programs," said Bailey. "In addition to job creation and community support, the Municipality Contribution Agreement with OLG delivers substantial benefits to Point Edward."

Meanwhile, the City of Sarnia was issued $92,256 in its fourth quarter payment for hosting Gateway Casinos Sarnia.

During OLG’s fiscal year, Sarnia has received $392,839 for a total of $28,055,756 since 1999.

Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.5 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
