Farmers market opens in Camlachie

Ferguson Estates has launched a weekly farmers market in Camlachie to promote local producers during the summer growing season.

The Local Roots Farmers Market will run every Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at 4195 Aberarder Line.

The market launched on June 3 and will continue through to September 30.

Ferguson Estates Host/Manager Kelly Byatt said the first event went really well and a list of vendors will be posted to the market's Facebook page every week.

"We have lots of great vendors, new vendors each week," Byatt said. "A lot of the vendors will be returning each week."

Byatt said over 12 vendors have signed up for the June 10 farmers market.

Those interested in becoming a vendor can email host@fergusonestates.ca.

"We're looking forward to the community coming out each week," Byatt said.

Organizers expect to have live music during the market on July 1 to celebrate Canada Day.

The large property also offers a driving range, rental house, and wedding venue -- which is now booking into 2027.

Meanwhile, the Bright's Grove Summer Market is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, June 11 at Kenwick Park from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The market will continue through to September 10.
