Nearly 80 hospitals and hospital foundations, including Bluewater Health, will benefit from this year's Split the Pot Lottery.
The provincewide lottery is on this month with the grand prize draw scheduled for Thursday, June 26.
Bluewater Health Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander said Split the Pot is a collaborative effort between 79 hospitals across the province.
"It started a couple of years ago and we were lucky enough to have been in on the ground floor, an opportunity to collaborate and raise some much needed funds through a lottery process," said Alexander. "It's really a nice approach to come together recognizing that all hospitals require additional support for capital priorities and programs."
When you purchase your ticket online, you can specify which foundation you're supporting.
"We're still fundraising for the cancer care redevelopment," said Alexander. "We're getting closer every single day, about 85 per cent raised. So, all of our additional opportunities to generate revenue are redirected into that much needed project."
Alexander said the total prize payout is a guaranteed $750,000 as well as $85,000 in early bird prizing and one prize of groceries for a year.
"Not only are the winners splitting the pot, but the hospitals also split the pot of revenue which really then gets reinvested into local health care," she said.
Ticket bundles include five for $10, 75 for $20, 150 for $50 and 800 tickets for $100.
The next early bird draw is on Thursday, June 12.
