Local beaches safe for cooling off

As we head into another hot and humid weekend in Sarnia-Lambton, area beaches have been given the all clear for swimming.

Lambton Public Health said no warning signs are posted at any of the seven regularly monitored beaches.

The health unit regularly tests water quality at Grand Bend, the Pinery, Highland Glen Park, Ipperwash, Bright's Grove and Canatara Park beaches.

The health unit does not conduct water sampling along the St. Clair River, however caution signs advising of high bacteria levels following heavy rainfall are permanently posted at Branton Cundick Park, Brander Park and Seager Park.

Beachgoers can access water quality updates by texting BEACH to 226-909-3003 or by visiting Lambton Public Health's website.
