The Sarnia Sting hammered the visiting Erie Otters in OHL action Friday night.
The Sting's Jack Van Volsen scored three goals to record his first career OHL hat trick in Sarnia's 9-1 victory.
Also scoring for Sarnia was Matthew Manza, Jordan Bax, Hunter Soloman, Easton Walos and Jacob Reese.
Overage forward Ben Pickell had a three-point night including a goal and two assists and Liam Beamish had three assists for Sarnia in the win.
Tyler Cooper scored the lone goal for Erie in the first period.
The Sting outshot the Otters 47 to 20.
The win moves Sarnia to 12-23-4-1 on the season, one point behind the Otters, who are sitting at ninth place in the Western Conference.
