Toll rates at Blue Water Bridge unchanged

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) said tolls are staying the same at the Blue Water Bridge.

The announcement follows the Crown Corporation's annual rate review for the fiscal year beginning April 1.

In a post to social media, the FBCL said "as costs rise, we’re holding the line for travellers and the supply chain."

The toll for US bound passenger vehicles at the border crossing is $7 (CAD), or $4.50 (CAD) if paying with a Connexion pre-paid account.

Commercial vehicles travelling stateside also pay $7 (CAD) per axle, or $5 (CAD) with Connexion.

FBCL Chief Executive Officer Natalie Kinloch said their role as a Crown Corporation is to act as a responsible steward of the vital international link.

"By prioritizing fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency, we’re able to hold the line on our rates during a time of rising costs. Our goal is the sustainable management of the bridge to support the people and businesses that rely on it every day," said Kinloch in a news release.

In December, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced an increase for Canada bound traffic using the border crossing.
