Hwy. 402 truck driver caught attending online meeting

A truck driver is facing charges for distracted driving after allegedly being caught participating in a video meeting while on the highway Sunday.

Lambton OPP said an officer pulled over the tractor-trailer on the westbound Highway 402 near the Blue Water Bridge, after seeing the driver attending a Teams video meeting while behind the wheel.

The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for having a display screen visible to the driver.

As part of the OPP’s Stay Focused campaign, Lambton OPP continues to target distracted driving through education and enforcement.

OPP reminds drivers that if you’re behind the wheel, you’re not available.
