Several bands will perform in downtown Sarnia at the Bad Dog Street Party, in support of the Bluewater Health Foundation.
Bad Dog Bar & Grill Events and Promotions Coordinator Kylie Marsden said they helped with Beats on the Street last year, but with the lack of outdoor music events in Sarnia-Lambton this year, they decided to host their own event.
Live music and entertainment will be held on George Street, beside Bad Dog, between Christina and Front streets.
The event will kick off on Thursday, August 27, with a free family movie night.
"They call themselves the real estate dream team -- Madison Twose, Lisa Aubin, Mortgage Alliance and Great Lakes Law; they approached us about being involved, and they are now hosting a free Movie in the Street," Marsden said. The movie's title and time have yet to be announced.
On Friday, August 28, Red Wanting Blue will perform, along with Townhall Revival, and Kenny & Joel Acoustic Show.
"On August 29, we're open during the daytime for a youth battle of the bands between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. At nighttime, we'll reopen again, and we have My Son the Hurricane, Brothers Wilde, and Centrefold."
The youth battle of the bands event is an all-ages free event.
Tickets for the evening performances, beginning at 6 p.m., are available online through Revelree.
"Because of how impactful the Bluewater Health Foundation is in our community, we all need it at some point or another, we've decided to partner with them," Marsden said. "So we do have portions of our ticket sales, we have some 50/50 draws, as well as some other great ways to raise some funds for them throughout the weekend."
Marsden said food will be available onsite; however, patrons are encouraged to visit the downtown businesses as well.
"We have an amazing community down here," Marsden said. "
The Sarnia Legion has joined as a title sponsor, and Marsden said several other businesses and organizations have stepped up to sponsor the event.

During the July 20 meeting, city council approved a noise bylaw exemption for the amplification of live music on August 28 and August 29 until 12 a.m.
