Following Carrie McEachran winning the Sarnia Mayoral race, the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce needs a new CEO.
The Chamber said they were prepared for this outcome.
"Our next step is to find a replacement, and that process has already started. We had contingency plans in place, regardless as to whether she won or didn't win, as to what the next steps would be, and we were ready for this, hoping that this would be the outcome," said Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce interim CEO Steve Crozier.
Anyone is welcome to apply for the position, but the selected candidate must live in Sarnia-Lambton or be willing to move to the area.
"We've posted the job already with several of the employment agencies locally, all of which are members of the chamber, and we will go from there. It's a quick process. We've got the job open for just a couple of weeks, and we hope to find a suitable candidate. If we don't find somebody in that two-week period, we will look at next steps," he said.
They are looking for candidates with a broad background in business, advocacy and governance.
"The board of directors will appoint a committee, and we will actually be having a meeting Wednesday to discuss those kinds of details. But a committee will be struck. It'll include myself as the interim CEO, the board chair, and three other members of the board."
Crozier said he will not be putting his hat in the ring for the CEO position.
