A community alert system has recommended a shelter-in-place for parts of Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
After two consecutive high benzene readings, authorities recommend a shelter-in-place for Zone Six, the northern section of South Vidal Street, and Zone Seven, north of St. Clair Parkway, on Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
Residents in these areas should limit time outdoors, shut all doors and windows, turn off air intakes and HVAC systems, and set air purifiers to maximum.
