Sting Beat Greyhounds In Convincing Fashion

With a 6-3 loss to Kitchener fresh in their memories, Sarnia got just the response they were hoping for in Sault Ste. Marie.

They scored three quick goals just 2:43 apart to open a 3-0 lead before the game was even seven minutes old.

The Greyhounds would provide a bit of a push back to begin the second period, scoring twice to trim Sarnia's lead to one. The Sting would silence any chance of a Sault Ste. Marie comeback by scoring four unanswered goals before the end of 40 minutes.

The Sting cruised to the 7-2 victory from there, outshooting the Greyhounds 31-23, and beating the defending West Division champs for the second time in as many weeks.

Jakob Chychrun lead the way for Sarnia, scoring twice and finishing with a very impressive +6. Nikita Korostelev had a three point night and Brandon Lindberg scored his first goal of the season.

Sarnia once again showed off their depth with six different players scoring goals, and all but four players picking up a point.

The Sting have the rest of the weekend off before travelling to Niagara next Friday, and Erie Saturday.
