A big win for the Pt Edward Pacers last night as the Junior B lacrosse team recorded their first victory of the season. After beginning the campaign with three straight losses the Pacers used a little home cooking to top the London Blue Devils 12-8. Captain Liam Wright says they're happy to get that first win out of the way. "It was huge for us, especially coming off that overtime loss against Hamilton" Korey Conroy lead the way offensively for the home team, finishing with a goal and six assists. Jacob Couglin and Brett Barnes both had three goal nights to help the cause. Leading by a goal heading into the third period, the Pacers opened the final frame with four straight tallies to pull away from the Blue Devils. Wright, who finished with a goal and three assits, says the win is a solid building block for the young team moving forward. "We took what we learned and put it together against London," says the fifth year Pacer. "Still some sloppy things, a couple undisciplined plays but we look good going forward thats for sure" After a practice Thursday night the team travels to St. Catharine's Saturday before hosting Geulph Sunday afternoon at Pt Edward Arena.
