Ichiro Suzuki raised his career hits total to 4,257 in the Japanese and North American major leagues, passing Pete Rose's Major League total. Suzuki hit the milestone with a single and double against San Diego last night.

He had one-thousand-278 hits in Japan before collecting the rest with Seattle, the New York Yankees and Marlins. Suzuki needs 19 hits to become the 30th to reach 3,000 hits in the majors.

The Tampa Bay Rays say their Pride Night game on Friday, dedicated to the victims of last Sunday's mass shooting in Orlando, is sold out. The Rays put all open seats to the game against San Francisco on sale for $5 this week, with all proceeds benefiting the Pulse Victims Fund, set up for the families of the victims.

NHL The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired forwards Teuvo Teravainen and Bryan Bickell from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for two draft picks. Carolina sent a second round pick in the 2016 draft, the 50th overall, and a third round pick next year to Chicago, which saves significant salary cap space for the Blackhawks.

OLA With one game left on the schedule its going to come right down to wire for the Pt Edward Pacers to clinch their first playoff appearance since 2004. With one game left the Pacers currently sit in the final playoff spot, two points up on Owen Sound and Wallaceburg.

Owen Sound has three games left while Wallacceburg's only remaining game is against Pt Edward Saturday.
