The Sarnia Midget Braves went 1-3 in the Stan Slack Memorial Wood Bat Classic that was held in Sarnia over the weekend.
They lost a tight extra innings contest to Brantford to open the tournament Friday afternoon, and couldn't hang onto their lead against Newmarket in their second game to fall to 0-2 on the tournament.
The Braves picked up their first win against Michigan Elite Saturday morning, but later fell to top ranked Springfield in the quarterfinals.
The Barrie Red Sox defeated Springfield in the finals Sunday.
The Braves continue a busy week of ball with away games Tuesday through Sunday between in both Connie Mack and Macomb League play. The Braves will squeeze in a home game at 8:30 Thursday night against the Michigan Blue Jays at Blackwell Park.

The field of play at Errol Russel Park was officially dedicated in memory of Stan Slack, who started Braves baseball 60 years ago.
Hundreds were in attendance for a ceremony Saturday afternoon for the official naming of Stan Slack Field at Errol Russel Park.
