MLB A wild finish Tuesday night in New York. The Blue Jays loaded the bases with one out but couldn't find the equalizer in a 7-6 loss to the Yankees. Toronto had already scored twice in the ninth off Dellin Betances. Brett Gardner made a leaping catch at the top of the left-field wall on Justin Smoak's drive for the final out. Boston beat San Diego so the Red Sox and Jays are tied atop the AL East standings.

The Tigers were shut out 2-0 by the White Sox, but Cleveland also lost so Detroit remains four and a half games back of the AL Central leader. Following the game, Detroit activated right handed pitcher Jordan Zimmerman from the DL, he's expected to start Saturday against the Orioles.
