It wasn't the colour he was hoping for but Forest's Tyler McGregor returned from the World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Chalottetown, P.E.I. with some hardware around his neck.
The 22-year-old McGregor and his Canadian teammates lost the the USA 5-2 in the gold medal game Saturday, falling to the Americans for the second time in the tournament.
"We had a great week of hockey, of the five games we played we really had one bad period, and that cost us the gold medal," says McGregor. "For a team that went there expecting to win gold, it was frustrating, and definitely something we weren't prepared for."
McGregor continues to be a leader with the Canadian squad, he was an alternate captain for the team in Charlottetown.
He says there is still plenty he wants to accomplish in his hockey career.
"Hopefully I can play until I'm 45, maybe be the next Jaromir Jagr, I certainly have a lot of hockey left in me and I'm excited for that," says McGregor.
The Forest native also won a bronze medal at the 2014 Paralympic games in Sochi, Russia.
