The Sarnia Sting (13-16-0-0) won for just the third time in 11 games with a 6-3 victory over the Otters (11-10-2-6) in Erie in OHL action Sunday.
Ryan Roth led the way for the Sting with two goals.
Jamieson Rees had a goal and two assists, while Eric Hjorth, Justin Nolet and Nolan Burke also scored.
The game was tied 2-2 after one period before Roth scored both of his goals to open up a 4-2 lead after two. Sarnia scored two more in the third before the Otters edged closer with a late goal to make the final 6-3.
Ben Gaudreau was solid in the Sting crease, stopping 44 of 47 shots faced. Daniel Murphy turned aside 19 of 25 shots for Erie.
Sarnia sits in last place in the Western Conference with 26 points, but they're just five points out of sixth place.
The Sting are back in action for two games this coming weekend. They head to London on Friday before hosting Mississauga on Saturday afternoon.
