Rangers double Spitfires 6-3

The Windsor Spitfires suffered a 6-3 loss at the hands of the Kitchener Rangers during Saturday's home game.

Will Cuylle scored the first goal of the game 15:21 into the first period. The Spits nor the Rangers were able to put up additional goals during first giving Windsor a 1-0 lead going into the second frame.

During the second period, the Rangers upped their game with three goals, while the Spitfires answered with just one shot into their opponents net by Cuylle again at 14:03. This time Windsor was left to trail behind Kitchener by just one point with the score 3-2 ahead of the final stretch of the game.

In third, the Rangers scored a fourth time, while the Spits only managed one more goal when Wyatt Johnson scored at 17:13.

Kitchener got the last say with a fifth shot in Windsor's net with just over two minutes left in the game and a sixth at 19:23 giving them a 6-3 victory.

Despite the tough loss, the Spitfires proved they wouldn't go down without a fight with a total of 42 attempted shots against the Rangers net. Goalie Kyle Downey made 18 saves out of 22 shots on net.

The Spits will cross the border on Wednesday for a chance to redeem themselves when they play against the Flint Firebirds at 7:00 p.m.
