Real Ice At Charles Clark Square

The ice at Windsor's Charles Clark Square will be real this season, instead of the fake rink installed last year.

Manager of Parks Yvan Manpha says the $50,000 spent on synthetic ice isn't going to waste. "Right now we just have it stored away and we're going to find a use for it either in the summertime or in one of our other arena facilities as maybe a practice pad," says Manpha.

Manpha says last year, the synthetic ice wasn't installed properly due to weather, which led to problems. "When it was installed, we were going between snow storms so we didn't get a real good installation," says Manpha. "It would be something I would look at in the future, you put it in while the weather is warm and you get a better installation."

Manpha says the rink should be ready by November 28, weather permitting. He doesn't foresee the synthetic ice returning to Charles Clark Square any time soon.
