Polar Plunge For Special Athletes

St. Clair College and the Windsor Police Service are encouraging you to take a plunge, and support the Special Olympics.

A giant pool is being constructed by students at the school, which will be used to take a dip in on February 5.

John Fairley with the college says the goal is to raise $15,000. "It's a great community challenge thing. I think everyone can pick up on it. It's easy to do -- have teams and companies and groups challenge each other -- and it's all for Special Olympics." Fairley hopes the Polar Plunge catches on, similar to how the ALS ice-bucket challenge did earlier this year.

There are expected to be a number of events on St. Clair's south campus that day, including snowball throwing contests and food trucks.
