The US Coastguard has rescued a father and son after they fell through the ice on Lake Erie this morning.
At around 10am, the two men, aged 57 and 25, were travelling on a snowmobile near Kingsville looking to go ice fishing when they partially fell in the ice. The two had a cellphone and called for help 2 km from shore.
When the Kingsville OPP couldn't locate the men, the US Coastguard found the fishermen and brought them them to shore where they were treated for injuries.
The two were wearing proper lifesaving gear. They were sent to hospital for minor symptoms of hypothermia.
