Community activist Patrick Hannon is looking to represent the federal New Democratic Party in Windsor-Tecumseh.
He says friends have been insisting that he enter politics for the last couple of years, and now he feels the time is right. "We need a national child care plan. We need a national minimum wage. We have to look after health care and our pensions. Our pensions are targets that are being slowly moved away as people get close to them."
Hannon works as a landscape surveyor and says he's spent many years traveling the world through advocacy work and the Canadian military.
The NDP is expected to hold its nomination vote at the end of March.
Bruce Moncur and Cheryl Hardcastle are also looking to represent the NDP in Windsor-Tecumseh.
