Windsor's mayor is looking forward to having a new Emergency Operations Centre.
Having his first look at how the current EOC works, Drew Dilkens can see what the benefits of having a new centre will be. He says communication improvements will be number one. "Certainly just the layout and the setup, and making sure that people have their own breaker rooms to be able to get on the phone and call the resources that are available within their own departments."
A site plan was approved for the new centre to be built at the airport back in 2013.
The city's annual emergency response exercise is taking place this week. There's no word on whether or not the new EOC might be ready by this time next year.
