As temperatures look to stay above freezing in Windsor, city crews have an eye on the roads.
City Engineer Mark Winterton and his team are evaluating every single street in Windsor, as the snow clears. "It's been a heavier, deeper frost (over the last two winters), and the damage to the roads has been more significant than we've noticed, historically," explains Winterton. "This isn't something we have subjective data on, it's just something we've noticed."
Winterton says the city has already been able to put some estimates together, send tenders out and hire contractors for certain road projects. Construction's expected to begin sometime in April.
The City of Windsor has an asset management plan which lays out which roads are highest on its priority list.
