Lakeshore Mayor and Essex County Warden Tom Bain is confident the site selection committee for the new hospital has the best locations on its shortlist.
The committee announced on Tuesday it has zeroed in on five or fewer sites.
Bain knows there were county sites that were passed over, but stresses access is the key.
"I think it needs to meet the needs of everyone to be able to get there as easily as possible and that's left up to the committee, so I really have my faith in the committee," says Bain.
The location for the proposed mega-hospital could be announced by the summer. The estimated $1.5-billion project could be complete by 2024.
