United Way Cuts Programs' Funding

Two community programs in the Leamington and Kingsville area are among several that are losing their funding from the United Way.

The Voices of Youth in Community program and Neighbours Helping Neighbours group in uptown Leamington aren't getting their five-year United Way funding agreement renewed.

United Way CEO Lorraine Goddard says the funding agreements for 25 programs expire at the end of the month, and some aren't being renewed. "It's about how can our investments help people in a way that is a good value for money and that is really going to make a difference in the community."

Goddard says other new programs are being funded. She says a full announcement of all of the changes will be coming in April.
