A 65-year-old Essex man faces a mischief charge after allegedly damaging an ambulance with a bat.

The Ontario Provincial Police was called to assist with a medical call on Prado St. south of Harrow around 6am Tuesday.

Police say Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Services responded to the call at a home in the 100-block, but when they arrived, a man with a baseball bat damaged the ambulance.

Officers took the suspect into custody, and he faces a charge of mischief under $5,000.
