Windsor Regional Hospital is asking the public not to visit if they have symptoms of a respiratory ailment.
The advisory comes amid an increased number of local outbreaks in the community. The hospital defines an outbreak as two or more cases of acute respiratory tract illnesses within 48 hours on a ward or unit. The rise in outbreaks could put added pressure on long-term care providers and emergency rooms.
Symptoms of respiratory illness include a fever, cough, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, headache and chills.
Right now, there are no confirmed cases at Windsor Regional Hospital.
