Cabana Becoming More Bike Friendly

Bike lanes costing $4.8-million will soon be stretching along Cabana Rd. in Windsor, but Bike Friendly Windsor-Essex insists there's more work to do.

President Lori Newton continues to push for more to be done at busy intersections like Cabana Rd. at Dougall Ave.

"Some of the councillors talked about residents who weren't happy with bollards. But the bollards we were recommending for the intersections, and there are no residents living in the intersections," says Newton.

City administration is expected to conduct further research on creating safe intersections for cyclists, and present options to council in the near future.

Bike lanes along the stretch of Cabana Rd., between Northway Ave. and Walker Rd., are just part of what will eventually be an entire cycle-friendly loop of Windsor.
