Sgt. Matthew D'Asti says Windsor police accident reconstruction is underway at the intersection of Chilver Rd. and Richmond St.
The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours as police investigate.
Police say the driver of the van and her nine-month-old baby were also taken to hospital as a precaution.
D'Asti says charges are pending.
Hospitals in southwestern Ontario are feeling the effects of underfunding, according to a new report by the CCPA.
Fortunately, no children were on board the bus, but the drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
