UPDATE: No Fire Alarm Concerns Residents (Gallery)

Two tenants are displaced and there's over $200,000 in damage after a fire at an east-Windsor apartment building this morning.
The fire started around 7:30am Friday inside a third-floor unit at an apartment building on Wildwood Dr.

"My wife noticed smoke. I went out on the balcony, and that apartment was on fire," says resident Steve Allan gesturing towards a third-floor window at 2930 Wildwood Dr. "Waiting for the fire alarm to go off. Nothing's going off. Closed our doors and windows and came downstairs. The fire department showed up. They started putting the fire out and finally the alarms went off in the building."

Fire Prevention Chief John Lee couldn't comment on the malfunction but says it'll be part of the investigation. There's no cost estimate yet, but Lee says there's damage throughout the building.

"Unit 300 was fully involved with fire. There's significant smoke on the third floor. There's water damage on two and smoke up to the tenth floor," he says.

No one was hurt, and the cause is under investigation, although investigators have determined the fire to not be suspicious.
