The rain may have dampened the weekend, but LaSalle Strawberry Festival organizers were still pleased with the turn out.
The festival shut down early on its final day this Sunday due to heavy rainfall, but the event saw around 20,000 people attend throughout the weekend.
Festival Co-Chair Sue Desjarlais says it wasn't until the rain began to fall that things started to wrap up.
"Until the heavens opened we were in great shape. We dodged so much bad weather this weekend and it was just bound to happen," she says. "So you just roll with it. We close up early, smile and say, 'next year.'"
The festival was held from June 11-14 at Gil Maure Park in LaSalle.
