Administration at Kingsville Town Hall recommends town council adopt a study that could offer solutions to basement flooding in Cottam.
Council approved the study in its 2014 budget. It makes some recommendations, the more immediate of which could be accommodated within the confines of the current budget while others could be added to the five-year capital budget forecast.
The problem is storm sewers in Cottam feed into municipal drains that also service agricultural land. The drains have been overwhelmed during heavy rainfall.
The study by CrozierBaird Engineers investigated the state of the infrastructure.
