The weather agency says meteorologists were previously tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing dime to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm were also predicted.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
