Property values around the proposed mega-hospital near Windsor Airport are expected to jump.
"Anytime you have a development that's that large there's going to be an affect on property values in the immediate area," says Royal LePage sales manager Fred Shaw. "A lot of that is still zoned agricultural out there, so it will remain to be seen if there's a zoning change and just what that will mean."
But he says it's too early to tell what type of an increase we may see. "They will go up depending on what they decide the use will be out there, of course they will go up, but I don't think they're going to go through the roof or anything like that," Shaw says.
He predicts land owners will start coming to him about selling once the project moves along, but Shaw says he doesn't currently have any listings in the area.
The $1.6-billion mega-hospital is slated to be built on farm land at County Rd. 42 and Ninth Concession Rd.
