Women's Shelter Hosting A Food Fight

Windsor's Welcome Centre Shelter for Women is celebrating its 25th anniversary by raising money through a cooking competition at Caesar's Windsor.

Food Fights will pit culinary teams from local businesses against each other, using only fare found at local food banks, and will be hosted by Food Network chef Corbin Tomaszeski.

Shelter Executive Director Lady Laforet says, "To have an event of this calibre as our signature event and as our (capital campaign) launch event, is really something that we hope is going to connect us more with the broader community and bring us a lot more focus and attention to creating long-lasting partnerships that will keep us going for the next 25 years."

Tickets are now on sale for the event, which is set for October 1.  Details can be found at well-comecentre.com.
