A Level 1 heat alert has been issued for Saturday as humidex values are expected to be at or exceed 40 C (104 F).
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit are both issuing the alert, warning the public to stay cool over the weekend.
As always the health unit recommends to drink plenty of water, stay in air conditioned spaces, wear a hat and loose clothing, take a cold shower, check vulnerable neighbours and family and never leave children or pets inside a vehicle.
