[audio wav="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/FIVE-QUESTIONS-WITH-DAVID-MOMOTIUK-GREEN-WT-a.wav"][/audio] --- David Momotiuk’s decision to run as a candidate for the Green Party of Canada stems from his intelligent perspective that the Green Vision is the most appropriate policy for our economy and our environment.
The environmental impacts of transportation, industry, and resource-development are more well-known and real than ever before. He understands the challenges facing the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh are as far reaching and significant as anywhere else in Canada. And as the economy diversifies away from manufacturing into more of a service-based economy many of the old habits of pollution, waste and unsustainable growth still persist.
From minimum-wage to tax-returns, his campaign will put forward a simple analysis and a smart direction to improve the situations in International Trade, Democratic Deficits, Environmental Protections and Universal Health Care. He’s listened to vegetarians, scientists, protesters and pundits. He’s spoken with politicians, priests, autoworkers and waitresses. And he’s found out what the problem’s are and he’s worked out solutions.
Winning a seat for the Green Party could be considered by most to be an impossible task. No better a reason can he find to say what needs to be said and give voice to what has largely been unrecognized as priority. And he’ll be willing to put his reputation on the line when respectfully presenting the full extent and impact of what voter’s could achieve by electing a Green Member of Parliament. --- Interesting riding facts:
- Created in 2003 from parts of the former Essex and Windsor-St. Clair ridings
- NDP Joe Comartin held the seat for the area from 2000-2015, with Liberals taking hold from 1993-2000.
